Skating wear to street clothes!

Hello!
Being an ice skater we have to wear this ridiculously tight outfits that, trust me, don't look great on everyone. For practice we have on shirt/ tank and shorts/ pants. When you have to go out after practice people will give you looks for our outfits and I've even gotten comments. You can pick one piece from your practice outfit and turn it into an outfit for after! Super cute without having to change into a new outfit.

Black leggings are almost all skaters wear to practice. Leggings are a hot trend and super comfortable. To make them 'street wear', put on a longer, flowy top so you can balance out the tight bottoms. Roll up the bottom of the pants to make them capris with a cute tank top for summer. You can even put on a blazar as long as there's no white spots on your pants from falling so much!

                                                       Staple: Graphic shirt-

Ever skater wears a graphic shirt on the ice to mix it up from a sports top of solid shirt. They're fun and everyone loves to read the sayings. This is an easy change to wear this on the ice and change into jeans or a skirt afterwards. In the winter I love wearing a graphic t-shirt with a long sleeve underneath to keep me warm. These are perfect to layer with another shirt or a hoodie. Simple and easy!

Staple: Black tights-

HM, $9.95

On the ice we'll wear black tights with our dresses or with shorts. They add an edge to the typical nude/ orange tights we usually wear. After practice pair your tights with a cute little dress and flats/ heels. Edge up a skirt with black tights and make your legs look skinnier.

                                                  Staple: Scarf-
Spend: Club Monaco, $59

Diane Von Furstenberg, $230

I love wearing scarves on the ice and they keep me super warm. Go for the shorter, tighter version for skating or the longer, poncho style for coaching. Put the shorter scarf with a tight shirt and boyfriend jeans. Pair the longer scarf with leggings or dark skinny jeans. A scarf is an accessory so don't go overboard with the outfit!

                                                           Staple: Leotard-
Discount Dance, $18.85
http://www.discountdance.com/dancewear/style_N9001.html?pid=4598&Shop=Style&SID=248942022
 Bloch, $59.09

I love skating in leotards. They are super sexy and they're so many different variations. I wore a strapey backless leotard with a skirt and it was totally cute. Wear them with boy friend jeans and show off some skin. They are a bit peculiar but this can be an upcoming fashion trend!

                                                                  Staple: Jeggings-

http://www.discountdance.com/dancewear/style_FF209.html?pid=8841&Shop=Style&&skey=tights&search=true&SID=248938830
 Vero Moda, $36.96
http://us.asos.com/Vero-Moda-Vero-Moda-Mid-Wash-Denim-Jean-Leggings/ugyrv/?iid=1341724&SearchQuery=jeggings&sh=0&pge=0&pgesize=-1&sort=-1&clr=DenimBlue&mporgp=L1Zlcm8tTW9kYS9WZXJvLU1vZGEtTWlkLVdhc2gtRGVuaW0tSmVhbi1MZWdnaW5ncy9Qcm9kLw..
Jeggings are the hottest alternative to jeans. They're more comfortable and easier to move in. I have seen a few skating companies use the jegging looks and it can be cute. This is perfect for going out after since you have your 'jeans' on already. Jeans can be worn with anything and you can use your jeggings to play up any outfit.

                                                   Staple: Shorts-
 Michelle Mason, $220
http://www.shopbop.com/lace-shorts-mason-by-michelle/vp/v=1/845524441896799.htm?fm=search-viewall-shopbysize
 Monrow, $56
http://www.shopbop.com/vintage-shorts-monrow/vp/v=1/845524441895918.htm?fm=search-viewall-shopbysize
I love wearing shorts on the ice especially during the summer! The keep it a bit cooler and it's always great to show off some leg. Make sure your shorts are moveable so it's more comfortable to skate in! Pair your shorts with a tank afterwards to make it casual. Put on a cute little sweater for cold weather!

Staple: Leg warmers-
 Ugg Cable leg warmers, $52.63
http://us.asos.com/UGG-UGG-Cable-Leg-Warmers/vila2/?iid=1318346&SearchQuery=leg%20warmers&sh=0&pge=0&pgesize=-1&sort=-1&clr=HeatherGrey&mporgp=L1VnZy9VZ2ctQ2FibGUtTGVnLVdhcm1lcnMvUHJvZC8.
Discount Dance, $8.95
I love wearing leg warmers on the ice! They keep you so warm and are totally cute. These have been trying to get on trend for years now but I love them. Wear them over skinny jeans to keep your legs warming. Pair them with a skirt to give it a new vibe. Use a flair skirt with a tighter top and leg warmers. These look better with heels or higher boots so your legs don't look short or cut them off.

Staple: Fitted shirt
 Steal: Asos, $14.77

When I skate I need to wear tight shirts so it doesn't bother me and I'm not fussing with it the whole time.  Fitted shirts are great for street way since they show off your body. Pair them with shorts, boyfriend jeans, or even a skirt and belt. I love these two tops because the one has back cleavage which is super hot. The other shows mid-driff so you can show off some stomach or pair it with a longer shirt to keep it casual and so you don't show to much skin.

Staple: Turtleneck-
 Steal: Asos, $27.70
 http://us.asos.com/ASOS-ASOS-Cable-Knit-Roll-Neck-Sweater/vj22d/?iid=1264796&SearchQuery=turtleneck&Rf-700=1000&sh=0&pge=0&pgesize=-1&sort=-1&clr=Cream&mporgp=L0Fzb3MvQXNvcy1DYWJsZS1Lbml0LVJvbGwtTmVjay1KdW1wZXIvUHJvZC8.
 Splurge: Donna Karen, $2495
ttp://beta.neimanmarcus.com:80/store/product.jsp?itemId=prod132140051&catId=
I love skating in turtlenecks since they give me warm and they have this cozy yet sexy vibe. I can wear a longer, slouchier one to coach in or a tight fitting one to skate in. Pair the slouchy sweater with leggings, skinny jeans, and some boots. The tighter sweater add shorts or skirt with tights, jeans, or pants. Don't make your bottoms to tight though so it balances out the tight top. Keep your outfit simple though, don't OD on accessorizing!

Staple: Hoodie-
 Diesel, $150.49
http://us.asos.com/Diesel-Diesel-Marl-Cropped-Zip-Thru-Sweat-Top/w3odv/?iid=1514059&SearchQuery=hoodie&Rf-700=1000&sh=0&pge=0&pgesize=20&sort=-1&clr=Mint&mporgp=L0RpZXNlbC9EaWVzZWwtTWFybC1Dcm9wcGVkLVppcC1UaHJ1LVN3ZWF0LVRvcC9Qcm9kLw..
 Superdry, $120
When we warm up we have to wear jackets since it's so cold but hoodie's are soo much more comfortable! Some coaches don't like kids wearing them so be warned. After practice pair your hoodie with a t-shirt and shorts. Put on skinny jeans and ankle booties to edge it up. Layer up your hoodie with long sleeve folded up (second pic) or just put it over clothes to keep the chill out.

Staple: Poncho-
 Patterson J. Kincaid Milano, $118
 http://www.shopbop.com/milano-poncho-patterson-j-kincaid/vp/v=1/845524441902824.htm?fm=search-viewall-shopbysize

 Splurge: Donna Karen, $1195
http://beta.neimanmarcus.com:80/store/product.jsp?itemId=prod133100087&catId=
Most skaters can't wear ponchos since they are to baggy to skate in but they are perfect for coaches. We wear so many layers we need some breathing room but we still need to keep warm. They are perfect for street wear since they can keep you warm on chilly days and can be classy or casual. Pair with cutup jean shorts and a tank for a casual look. Black skinny jeans and lace up heels for classy touch. Skirt and tights to make it sophisticated. Or just throw it over an outfit as your jacket until you can show off your real outfit.
                                                        Staple: Vests-
 Splurge: Donna Karen, $3800
Vests are my love for skating in instead of jackets. They keep me warmer and not many people wear them. There are so many different kinds from (faux) fur, the bubble, leather, and fleece. Take this as your coat for your street wear or make it part of your outfit. I love wearing it with a solid color fitted t-shirt or even a long tank top. You can even pull it off with a dress! Wear leggings with a longer vest or just skinny jeans. A festive vest with fur, pockets, buttons, or zippers, can act like an accessory!

Being a skater you think your stuck to those black stretch pants and tank with a long/ short sleeve t-shirt layered over and a jacket for warmup. I love being able to wear half my skating clothes out so I don't have to change and don't have to bring so many extra bags of clothes to change into! It makes life that much easier and you can get more use out of your clothes. Easy and sylish! J'adore!!
