2012 SAG Awards!

Hello!
It's officially awards season. I missed the first event of the season but I am back on track. Here are my favs, what where they thinking, and almost but not quite of the SAG Awards!

Favs!!!
Jayma Mays in Reem Acra's 2011 Fall collection. This happens to be one of my favs from the night. Jayma is not frequently on my fashion radar but tonight she really shined. The gown covers everything but her arms yet it is still sexy. It is completely bedazzled and makes it super glam. She looks sleek and confident.

Natalie Portman in Giambattista Valli. Natalie was the most regal and gorgeous of all the ladies on the carpet. She looks stunning and sophisticated. I love this wine colored dress on her. The draping on top brings attention and fabric across the bust makes it dramatic. The bedazzled clutch and diamond drop earrings make it glam. (Semi biased since I interned with Giambattista ;)

Sarah Hyland in Temperley London with Neil Lane jewelry. She looks absolutely adorable! This creamy color makes her skin look evervesent. The  applique on the bottom and top give it a glam feel. She looks to elegant and the dress is age appropriate and the v-neck gives it a sexiness.

Viola Davis in Marchesa. I love this on her! The white is perfect against her dark skin and it really pops. The gold embroidery makes it glam instead of bridal. The gold bracelet is a nice accent and goes with the theme of the dress.

Emma Stone in Alexander McQueen Pre-Fall/Winter 2012 and Tiffany jewelry.  I usually hate mid-ength skirts but I love it on Emma! This is a classic BD but the lace bustier gives it some edge. I love how she mixed it up with the gold drop earrings and the gold on her hand/clutch as well. She's been so fashion forward on the carpet recently so I wished she pushed the envelope a bit more.

Naya Rivera in Naeem Khan with Neil Lane jewels. Naya looks fab with this plunging V-neck and beading throughout. On print the color looks like a white metallic but the description says periwinkle blue. Either way, it compliments her skin and super sexy.

Rose Byrne in Elie Saab 2009 Haute Couture Fall/Winter Collection. I give her my most daring/ unique of the night. It is rare to see someone working a jumpsuit on the red carpet. Especially when it is all white and crystalized. I love it though and it totally standsout. The bob is a bit severe but I'll forgive her for being unique!

Angelina Jolie in Jenny Packham 2011 Autumn/Winter collection. Angie has been rocking it on the carpet recently and this is no exception. She looks totally badass and sexy in this. The halter shows off her shoulders and arms while the draping brings the attention up. Her makeup is superb with the intense eyes and nude lip.

What Are They Thinking!!
Busy Philipps in Simone by Katie Nehre dress. This is the tie for the worst dressed of the entire carpet. Her name fits her dress, busy. It looks like she was hitting the beach, not a red carpet. The loose braid and waves just add to the casual look.

Heather Morris. This is the other tie for my worst dress of the evening. This outfit looks like a dominatrix. The she has the mid-length but then she has the black mesh train that doesn't go all the way around. There are some parts of the dress that look like it is actual material and the other part is leather. It is to extreme and should be reserved for the bedroom.

Jenna Ushkowitz with Martin Katz jewelry and Judith Leiber clutch. This dress is not glam enough for a red carpet and could be disguised as curtains. The print is to overwhelming for this entire gown. The cutouts with the white bands are an odd mix as well. The skirt should be cut mid-thigh (as intended by the under layer) instead of being floor-length.

Zoe Saldana in Givenchy Haute Couture by Riccardo Tisci Spring/Summer 2012 with Tiffany jewelry. This fabric looks sparkly and then you have the crystals along with neckline, waist, and end of arms/ bottom. I love crystals but they are oddly placed. The biggest offense is the white tank underneath. The tank screams, 'I am trying to hide the fact that my gown is see through.'

Diane Lane in David Meiaster. This is the prom bomb of the night. The blue satin material is not flattering against her skin. The asymmetrical bottom isn't working for me either along with the applique on the hip. If she had her hair looser and the dress in black then would it'd work.

Shailene Woodley in L'Wren Scott Spring/ Summer 2012 collection. This dress most inappropriate of the evning. She looks as though she belongs at a Hawaiian luau rather then a red carpet. The print is not working and makes her seem much older then she actually is.

Jenna Fisher in Max Azria Atelier. This dress looks like it is for the mother of the bride! She looks a bit dowdy and old-ladyish. Her hair looks to severe and needs to be down. She looks as though she has a good body and should show it off. If she took off the sleeves then it would be so much better

Almost But Not Quite!!!
Kyra Sedgwick in Emilio Pucci. She is my top pick for the look that was almost great. This look is super hot and on trend especially with the cutouts. The red looks great on her especially against her hair. I just wish there was something more to this and it had that 'wow' factor. The dress is simple so she needed a killer accessory. If she had that then she would of been a fav.

Lea Michele in Versace with Lorraine Schwartz jewels. This has to be the sexiest dress of the evening. The high slit and the tight draping make it super sexy. I hate Lea's hair and it totally ruins  the look! It looks like she brushed it with a rake and came to the event. Plus, her pointy shoes are to severe and do not fit! (Her heel doesn't fit into the back properly.)

Kaley Cuoco in Romona Keveza's Spring 2012 Collection. This dress seems a bit to extravagent for the SAG Awards and she stands out against all the other dresses. This is almost like a princess dress and it could be mistaken for a bridal dress if it was white. Also, I hate her hair with the braid that is lighter then her actual hair color.

Michelle Williams in Valentino with Lanvin clutch and heels. This asymmetrical look on her is very flattering. I especially love the red against the red against her strawberry blond hair. The thing with this look is it is to matchy-matchy. The red dress, heels, and clutch are all red. It is all the same and she needed one item to set it off.

Kristen Wiig in Balenciaga by Nicolas Ghesqui'ere. This dress isn't to bad, I like the shape of it. However, I feel as though the top is a bit big on her and she doesn't fill it out well. I am thinking a belt r something to cut her off and make her not seem like she's seven foot tall. My biggest pet peeve is her necklace! It looks like an enlarged dog collar. It doesn't fit with the neckline either. A simple crystal bracelet would of sufficed.

Amber Heard in Zac Posen Pre-Fall 2012. This dress is semi major with the cutouts and the glossy look of the silk fallie. The thing is I hate her hair and color! The hair is what makes it 'not quite'. I think if the hair was darker then it would make the look edgier. Also, the hair looks like it was vacuum straight up.

Much love!
