2011 Film Independent Spirit Awards

Natalie Portman- Givenchy dress, Stella McCartney pumps, and Cartier ring. I like how she goes for a pop of color with the yellow but I don't like this dress. I don't know why I don't like it. I just feel like it's disjointed from the top and the bottom and then the belt in the middle. Plus her hair looks sloppy.
Nicole Kidman- She looks amazing here! and super tiny. The red lace dress brings out her red hair and the color looks great on her. I wish her hair was pushed back so we could see her face and she had different shoes on. These checkered print have to go and she needs some sexy pumps on.
Jennifer Lawrence- Dolce & Gabbana dress, Lorraine Schwartz bracelet, and Louboutin sandals. I really love this dress on her and makes her seem very southern bell. It can be reminiscent of my grandmother's tablecloth but her young look makes it look fresh. Love the aqua bracelt but not a fan of shoes. She should of gone for more of a gladiator sandal instead of these chunky Louboutin's.
Annette Bening- She looks like she took her husbands suit! It's to doubty on her especially since she is older. She should of tightened up her clothes and redone her hair. *Worst*
Melissa Leo- This emerald dress is reminiscent of a prom dress. She had an off the shoulder dress put then decided to put straps on. She needs to get rid of the straps, shiny fabric, and put on a cocktail ring.
Rosario Dawson- Burberry dress and Brian Atwood heels. I really love her animal print dress! It has a wild edge and is chic. Wished she put her hair up and had a statement look for makeup.
Eve Mendes- Chanel dress. Love! She looks amazing in this print dress and I love the colors. Also, loving the aqua strappy shoes! They bring out the colors in the dress and are tres chic! *Fav*
Naomi Watts- She looks so black especially with her almost all black-cad husband beside her. If she took off the bag and jacket then it wouldn't be so overwhelming. I feel like they're going to a funeral and I want her to show off some color or skin.
Michelle Trachtenberg- I'm not to fond of this Pamella Roland coat dress. It makes her look to much like a bubble and then the black tight and boots are to much.
Zoe Saldana- I like the animal print Dolce & Gabbana dress. Not a fan of the lace overlay though. The Brian Atwood pumps add a nice splash of color. If this dress didn't have the white lace it would of been amazing!
Jennifer Westfeldt- I like her leather jacket with the floral dress. I am just finding it to be a bit to casual for a carpet event. I would of liked caged heels as well instead of nude pumps. I would wear this outfit out though it is quite cute.
Amanda Peet- I find the this white frock to be a bit to prissy and stiff. I wish it was a strapless dress to make it more girly. Take away the black tights as well, they make her legs look to short.
Mia Masikowska- It feels to dowdy and the lace ribbons are like a bra and then pointing down there. It's just to much. Then the shoes r to clunky!
Kerry Washington- I really like this floral print dress. I wish the top was the same pattern as the bottom though. Loven' the red pumps with it!
Anne Heche- Like the boho floral print dress. The colors really compliment her pale skin and blonde hair.
Sarah Oh-Her dress looks like an optical illusion and makes her look big. Plus the DD size bra strap on top and all black clad tights and shoes. Oi, messy! I still can't get over the dress, it gives me a headache.
Erika Christensen- Loven' the LBD with nude pumps. Her legs look super long and the black dress is very chic. She looks very classy and polished.
Amber Tamblyn- Not liking the colored shirt dress. It feels to peasanty and green house fair. Plus the black shoes are to severe, she needs a plum or nude shoes.
Greta Gerwig- 80's called and they want their prom dress back. The lace, the ribbon, it's all to much.
Dale Dickey- Besides the Snooki bump-it hair she looks good. Wish she had different shoes but the dress looks good on her.
Vera Farmiga- Did she want to be a yodeler with a passion for tango. Then the chunky necklace, bracelet, and shoes. *Worst*
Illeana Douglas- If she hadn't worn such solar paneled futuristic shoes it would of ben amazing. The dress does look good on her though!

2011 Grammy fashion!

The Grammy's were last night and here's the fashion report!
Miley Cyrus- My oh my did she look prego on TV! With the racy pics and bong incident one can only wonder. I did like the dress and the accent of glitter on the print. I just felt like it was all to overdone and made her look to wide when I watched her walk the carpet. Dress is hot, Miley not so much.
Jennifer Lopez- MILF on the loose! She looks hot in this dress and puts women years younger then her to shame with her body. I really liked the look but I felt like it was shimmer overload. Trust me, I'm all for the sparkles but the dress, bag, and shoes is a bit much. I feel like she needs a new bag to keep from looking like a drag queen. Along with her dress being a tad longer. It just looks like her cooka is going to fly out any second. I want those shoes though!
Nicki Minaj- Typical Nicki, outrageous and colorful (well, print). I would love to say that it's to much leopard but I commend her for being a tad loco. It's outrageous but it's her style. And it only took her two hours to get ready so kudos for speedy dress time.
Rihanna- This is a wardrobe function waiting to happen! The see though paneling is distracting and trashy. I feel like a nipple is bound to pop out at us! Oi, this is a hot mess.
Lady Gaga- An egg?? It was a great way to get out of interviews. Typical Gaga fashion and I commend her. Even better is the leading man carrying her with the chiseled abs. Yum!
Katy Perry- The best thing about this outfit is her shoes. The dress is a mix of an angel meets showgirl. I don't get why she'd put on wings and then put a bedazzled bra top with a shiny (multi shine) skirt. Oi this is to many outfits in one. It's like her dress has multiple personality disorder!
Willow Smith- She's young and can have fun put this is to much fun. I don't know what the thing she has in her hand is and her pants look like a Yoda shiny cape is coming out of the back.The girl went into her moms closet, well the things she wanted to give to charity.
Snooki- She looks hot, for her!! She isn't lookimg oompa loopaish and she isn't showing to much skin. I actually really like this outfit. Shoulder pads are a tad high and retro but it works. You go Snooki!
Jenniger Hudson- I really love this besides her boobs. I just feel like the boobies are pushed up to high and together. She looks bangin' in this dress though. I love the jewlery and the shine on the boddice. J'adore!
Kelly Osbourne- Another love for her shoes! I'm not in love with this dress. It makes her waist look super tiny but the ruffles overwhelm her. The bow adds to the delusion and adds extra to the dress. I wish her hair was different too, it makes it to heavy.
Nicole Kidman-  I really love this dress on her. It really compliments her skin and hair color. I'm not sure why I love this dress on her so much but it compliments her so well! A+
Esperanza Spalding- I'm not a fan of this dress. I like the top and the exaggerated neckpiece but the bottom looks like it was shredded in a cheese grader. I feel like she's hiding behind the dress when she has a hot body underneath. I would of loved to see this dress shorter and into a mini. The shows add a nice pop but I feel like it's overload with the color of the dress.
Kim Kardashian- Wow, she looks great! And to think she wasn't going to come after a wardrobe malfunction. I really love this dress but it is typical sexy Kim. I think she should of made the boobage a bit less and tone down the shimmer tan. I do like this dress and she is a sexy goddess.
Selena Gomez- She looks great! Her outfit is age appropriate and the cleavage is just enough. I don't like how the photograph makes it look so shiny but it looked fab on TV! JB has a hot BFF (or GF?)
Ciara- She looks like she is a gladiator and should be on "Spartacus"! The top reminds me of s a skating dress or dominatrix. Then the print flowy skirt adds to randomness.
LeAnn Rimes- She looks amazing! I love this sparkey dress and it looks amazing on her. Her jewlery really accentuates the dress and she looks stunning. J'adore.
Lea Michele-I like this dress on her. She has some lace, leg, and cleavage. I'm not a fan of the bracelet, I'd prefer a diamond bracelet instead and the hair looks sloppy. I find this dress so intriguing though, it's a sexy BD.
Amber Reilly- I think this dress makes her look tiny but it also makes her look like she has worms squirming out of her stomach. Maybe she's on the tapeworm diet and they're coming out of her? Plus the necklace with metal shoulder pad is to much. I would of liked a more simpler necklace and the dress without the worms.
Dianna Agron- Her hair looks so 80's! It had a bit of a boofa that slicked back. I'm not a fan of the dress either. It's wrinkley and makes her boobless. How can a LBD go wrong?!
Naya Rivera- This dress is interesting. I'm not a fan of the print, it makes it look to summery and casual. I would of liked this dress if it didn't decide to grow a tail. If it had faded into the back and a solid color it would of been much better.
Jenna Uskkowitz- It looks like lingera mixed in with a bow/ ribbon. She should just be place on top of a present. The dress makes her look much bigger and it's see through.
Heidi Klum- OMG, hot momma! I love this dress on her!! It brings out a sun kissed look and is sparkly. I love the shoe too, unique mix with the girly dress. J'adore.
Eva Longoria- She looks like a cocktail waitress on ruffles. I would of liked to see something tighter instead of the balloon skirt and ruffle top. It's just to much on her petite frame.
Julianne Hough- She looks amazing! Her hair and makeup is flawless. Love this dress too! The print is full of lovely colors and she's owning it. We have a bit of cleavage and the colors are amazing on her.
Jordin Sparks- I think her dross forget if it wanted to be a cocktail dress or a gown. Then we have the white tool underneath! I don't know what's worse the tool showing or the dress.
Cyndi Lauper- Did she get electrocuted before?? She must of from that crazy hair and making herself put on this outfit. She looks like a dominatrix! The leather with the tattered skirt. Oii, she looks like a drag queen but without the queen.
Florence Welch- She has some tribal meets bird dress going on. She has swans pecking her boobs and with feathers. I guess she fell into a swans den on her way to the Grammy's?
Crystal Bowersox- This dress is such a shame. If her hair had more of a reddish tint then this would of looked amazing. Not sure what the sparkly green is coming out of her one boob for. If this was tighter and without the one sparkly boob this dress could of been nice. Plus a different hair stylist, the dreads aren't working.
Miranda Lambert- Another that had such potential but came out mediocre. I love the top of the dress with the asymmetrical and the sparkly fabric. Not a fab of the bottom. It's so drab and wide looking. I think if this was tighter or shorter then this dress would of been fab. I want to see her hair down and cascading or maybe in in a loose side bun. So much potential down the drain.
Kathy Griffin- She looks amazing! This dress makes her look super tiny and I'm jealous of her bod. Plus, this mustard with the sparkles brings out the red in her hair. She looks amazing and is putting women half her age to shame! J'aime!!
Natasha Bedingfield- The Marilyn hair has got to go! The top of the dress wanted to go to a skating competition but the bottom flower print is more fairy meadowland. It has to many different eras combined into one!
Monica- She looks like a mannequin. The hair is over gelled and it doesn't look like it can move. The shoulder pads with the sleeves looks statuesque. Granted, she does look seven feet tall but it doesn't look like she can move.
Keri Hilson- I really like this dress. It is questionable and my mom wasn't a fan of the fabric coming out of her boob. I love the color and the bit of sparkle. Loving the caged heels! The heels give a bad girl vibe to this electric dress. It is a tad ice dancing costume but I find it to be original.
Jewel- She looks regal! I am in love with her clutch and ring. The color is great on her and gives her skin a nice glow. The hair complements well too. I love the simplicity of the dress and the flair of accessories.
Selma Blair- Not a fan. She is pregnant so I think she should show of her bump. This dress is just boring and plain. There's no wow factor to it and I find the skirt to be to baggy. I feel a snoozeville coming.
Janelle Monae- I really love her take on mens wear. I love how she adds the sparkly jacket for her own touch and to make it feminine. I think maybe some cleavage would of been a nice touch. I really like this though especially with everyone in gowns.
Hayley Williams- Sparkles, black mesh, and a pink tutu. Did her little sister dress her?! The red Bozo hair only adds to the mess. Not sure if the cross is real or fake either... Tacky!
Hilary Scott- She looks good in her BD. I like the (belt?) around her waist. It is simple and classy.
Jade Pinkett-Smith- MILF alert! She looks amazing in this dress. Love the shoes and bags as well. The dress looks amazing on her and the sparkles always look great.
Tia Carrere- This would of been an amazing dress if she didn't decide to skin her dog and wear it. I think PETA should be alerted over this. I love the color and the dress but the roadkill ruins everything.
Martina McBride- Her dress forget to take off the extra fabric on her arm and side. You can't go wrong with a LBD but this one just looks so wrong. The fabric adds to much excess and the rushing looks to much. I am not a fan of the bangles either. Diamond bangles are the way to go!
Tony Braxton- She is wearing a cocktail waitresses skirt and maternity shirt! The shirt makes her boobs look like cones and is to loose fitting. The design in the middle doesn't go. This is so off in so many ways.
That's the end of the Grammy fashion!! We had some good and a lot of bad fashion shown. Sparkly dresses were the theme this year, tres chic!

SAG Awards 2011

Here are my reviews for most of the SAG Award gowns. Sorry gents, only the ladies get reviews!

Natalie Portman- I would love this dress without the baby bump. I do love the dress though! I think she needs to wear a darker color with the bump being the winter season. Love the jewelry, $2million in Tiffany.

Mila Kunis- I love this Alexander McQueen dress!! I believe the runway version was without the belt and there was black on bottom instead of white. I like this version better especially with the white bottom. A+ J’adore!

Helena Bonham Carter- Hot mess alert! Sunglasses, 80’s do, and to many ruffley details. It’s just to much and I don’t like were the skirt is cut. Maybe if it was full black then you wouldn’t see all those unneeded details.

Hilary Swank- I love this! This Versace gown is to die for. I love the dress on her skin and her soft curls. I like the crystal pieces and rushing details. A+!

Nicole Kidman- Just no... The fabric looks like velvet with lace and a floral necklace. The necklace looks attached to the dress and is just to much. With the higher, detailed neckline there should just be some killer earrings or a cocktail rink. I think this dress could of looked good if you cut off the top and just left it wit the V-neck and lace back.

Amy Adams- I don’t love this color on her. I do like the dress especially the rushing details and the halter neck. I think the white washes her out. I do like the earrings though.

Melissa Leo- This is a no all over. You can’t show off the boobies and legs, it’s one or the other. You first look at the small cleavage dip but her boobs do not look good and the dress looks like she couldn't breath so she cut it. I don’t like the leg slit either with the seam going up from it. It draws attention to things that shouldn’t be shown. To add to it the sparkly fabric adds to the tacky.

Jennifer Lawrence- I like her outfit. I like the pop of color and the leg cleavage. I really love the dramatic sleeves and the three sleeves on the right side. I do like the matching belt and shoes. 

Hailee Steinfeld- She’s so fresh and young but this dress is dizzying! The horizontal lines in different sizes make it an optical illusion. I like that she went for the pop of color but I think she should of picked one pop color. I love the pink nails though!

Annette Bening- I like this dress a lot and it makes her body look amazing. I like the bedazzling on top. Not a fan of the red lips and hair though..

Barbara Hershey- No, just no. It looks like there is random spots on her dress or she spilled something on it. Maybe some bleach or paint?! 

Winona Ryder- She has boob spillage and her bag is clunky. The top of the dress is better than the bottom but overall it isn’t great. The bottom looks like scissors attacked it or the skirt was uneven and she tried to fix it but cut some pieces to short.

Kim Kardashian- I really liked this dress especially the top. I love the bedazzled details and the color on her. It has a Greek Goddess look and isn’t her usual skin tight ensemble. The only thing that brings this down is her messy hair.

Angie Harmon- I love the color of this dress!! This pink is amazing especially with her skin tone. I think those feathers were a tad much coming from her boobs but I still love this dress. The shape, the color, to die for!

Sofia Vergara- Her boobs look amazing in this! Her cleavage is out but her legs are covered and it’s very tasteful. She looks amazing in this blue. Plus she’s a beautiful lady. I like her diamond jewelry as well, accentuates the dress.

Julia Bowen- I love the mix up of a pantsuit! I love the jewels plus the crystals on top of the halter. The deep V and belt make it very sophisticated.

Angela Kinsey- I’m not sure of this dress. There is a lot of bedazzlement that I love but this reminds me of an ice dancing dress. I think I’d like it better if it was all done in crystals instead of it fading out to none.

Jenna Fischer- Boring! The color is drap and there’s no va-va-voom. Short sleeve, crew neck, and grey. 

Lea Michele- Amazing! This Oscar de la Renta gown is to die for. I love the color, the belt, and the shape. She looks hot and confident. A!

Jane Lynch- I can’t imagine her without her track suit.. Even still I don’t like this prom bomb. The tiered skirt, shiny fabric, and crystal on belt. it’s just a tad cheesy and Princess Prom dress.

Jayma Mays- I love this dress on her especially with her hair. The peach brings out her skin and her hair color. The detail on the sleeve brings a more glam to the dress but I love the draped skirt and rushed belt. Amazing!

Amber Riley- Props to her for not being a size 2 and looking confident in her body. I really like this dress on her and she knows the tricks to slim her down. The rushing and flower shoulder add to the dress. I find the mermaid skirt to be a tad much though especially with all the weight. It just adds weight down below. She does have a killer smile and brings it.

Dianna Agron- She’s such a pretty young girl but she added years with the hair and dark eyes. Plus the dress ends at such an odd spot, it’s confused whether it wants to be short or a gown. The bow doesn’t blend in and it makes you look to her midsection. Not a fan of the sparkly fabric with the bow fabric.

Heather Morris- She looks amazing!! I love the color on her and it brings her out. I love how the top has a lot going on but the bottom is simple. Plus the bedazzled belt is bananas on the dress! The jewelry brings out the dress and doesn’t overpower. A!

Mariska Hargitay- I don’t like this dress at all. I do like the color on her and the topaz earrings are cool with the dress. The dress has an extra person in the bottom. Not a fan.

Edie Falco- I’m not a fan of this dress either. The shoes look like sandals and I think she needed a cute pair of peep toe heels. The print is distracting since you can kind of see it but it isn’t prominent. I think with a more distinct print, a belt, and sexy shoes the look would be revamped.

Kyra Sedwick- A simple LBD. Very tasteful and classic. The diamonds were a nice touch. I think a statement necklace would do this LBD good and had flair.

Julianna Margulies- I like this dress but not a fan off the hair. I think loose waves would of made the look less severe. I’m not a fan of the piece of fabric going from the top of the cleavage down. I do like the color on her but the bag needs to be sparkly to add some drama.

Christine Baranski- Besides the fact that her face is botoxed up I like the color of the dress. I find that there is a to much fabric going on on top and emphasizes her right boob and the slit shows off the left. The top is just to disproportional for me.

January Jones- Oh no. I think she stole an ornate rug and turned it into a dress. The only plus to this dress is it makes it look super skinny.

Christina Hendricks- It looks more like a Hugh Hefner robe except in a more sparkly fabric with more leg and cleavage. The shoes even reminisce of open toe slipper, I want to see some caged heels! This is a dud and belongs in the bedroom.

Tina Fey- Has finally gotten off the worst dress! I’m not in love but I do like this dress. The flower(?) detail brings drama to the dress. Plus those diamonds complement the dress.

Jane Krakowski- She looks amazing! This dress is tight enough to highlight the bump but that isn’t the only thing you look it. I love the shiny material and the bedazzling near the neckline. The asymmetrical works for her and I like that she isn’t wearing a gown. Plus the nude heels elongate her (assumingly) swollen legs. She’s one hot mama!

Clair Danes- I actually like this print and color. The ruffles on the bust give it a girley touch and the print complements her skin. I am not a fan of her hair or lipstick. I think she should of done a nude lip and added maybe a braid or waves to her hair. I like the belt but it wouldn’t hang off, looks sloppy.

Susan Sarandon- The hair is a hot mess and looks like an over hair sprayed prom style. I love this dress though. It’s simple and elegant but has some cleavage to add some va-va-voom. If this was on someone younger I think a statement necklace would of jazzed it up even more.

Rosario Dawson- I really love this color on her! This yellow looks amazing on her darker tone. I really love the emerald green earrings along with the gold bangles. The dress is a tad casual put she pulls it off.

Julia Stiles- I really like her jewelry, hair, and top of the gown. The bottom is this faded look whichI don’t like. This fading doesn’t work for me especially because it is only in the front and there is to much white. It should of gradually faded so the white was only trailing along the edge. Half of her looks hot the other half is not.

Eva Longoria- Mr. Parker may want his now ex-wife back after this! She looks gorgeous in this dress and I like how low cut it is without showing off the goods to much. It is very Greek Goddess. To amp this up I think she needs to be a bit more sun kissed and the makeup looks to white.

Kate Mara- Apparently she forget which dress she wanted to wear. She has the bandaged dress on top and then a ruffled mermaid skirt on the bottom. Plus the headband makes her like childish and the outfit even more dismal. This is an atomic bomb!

Ernest Borgine- I like the top of the dress but not the bottom. The sea green bottom start off with the belt with crystals in it and the design on the side. The bottom is a cheap prom dress with to many details. On top she looks regal and sophisticated. From the belt down she needs to get rid of but the top should stay!

2011 red carpet SAG Awards are over. Some people looked to die for while others should of stayed home!

Hello!

This blog was inspired after my internship with Giambattista Valli. I have always have had an interest in fashion and a love for writing. During my internship I saw how Vogue and Style.com wrote articles about fashion. From that I began to realize how this is something I may want to get into. To start off this new passion of mine I wanted to get experience and start writing about fashion. I'm not sure where this blog will lead me too but I'm excited to try this out. My ideas are to do award shows, maybe fashion shows, and what the celebrities are wearing for the week. I would love to hear everyones input and ideas as well.
